Shaping the Church for Mission

In light of the decline in the churches' life and resources and the challenges of consumerism and post-Christendom, the Region wishes to maintain 'New Ways of Being Church' as a programme priority.

However, this will be renamed 'Shaping the Church for Mission' to reflect the need not only for new expressions of church but for equipping the existing church for mission in contemporary society

Existing programmes, such as the annual Window on the World conference and the development of a multicultural ministry module will continue. The module will be available from September 2008. The emphasis on emerging church will also remain.

In addition, the region will focus on discipleship (and the development of gifts), leadership development (in particular for a changing church), and stewardship (including environment and ecology). Stewardship and caring for creation will be the theme for Window on the World 2008.
