Youth in Mission
In light of the continuing decline in numbers of young people in our churches and of the need for the empowerment of young people for leadership, the region wishes to keep youth in mission high on its agenda in future years. Its aim is to offer young people an opportunity to learn about mission through experience and to do so together with other young people. Three programmes will be offered by the Region. These are:
- the Mission:Impossible? Project
The Mission:Impossible? Project 2005 was held in Orkney. The theme of the project was caring for creation and involved beach cleaning and landscaping.
Together the young people from the CWM European Region member churches, Germany, Hungary, India, Zambia, Jamaica and Taiwan learned about the community where the project took place, reflected on the church's mission in that community and worked on a practical project.
Planning for the next Mission: Impossible? Project is well underway. The project will take place in the summer of 2009. For more information and details on how to apply, make sure to watch this space!
