Shaping the church for mission

Shaping the Church for Mission is a priority for CWM Europe. Including enabling and encouraging people to form new expressions of church and equipping existing congregations for mission.

The programme includes training events in areas of discipleship, leadership development and stewardship.

    CWM Europe organises an annual conference called Window on the World which is open to people of all ages. The conference explores mission themes, gives opportunities to engage with the world church and the challenges facing people of faith today.

    Following an Evangelism Workshop in January 2010, the same participants met again in January 2011 to discuss progress and future plans.

    In November 2009 CWM Europe, Together in Mission, Wycliffe and the Churches Together Group for Evangelisation came together to host a church planting consultation.

    CWM Europe is committed to helping the member churches to “shape the church for mission.” The developing of “mission shaped leaders” is an important element making this happen.  During 2011 CWM Europe will be bringing together a planning group to develop a programme that will help member churches consider the nature of mission shaped leadership, future training needs and areas for co-operation.


CWM Europe is one of the Regions of CWM, a partnership of churches in mission. The object of CWM Europe is 'to spread the gospel of Christ in word and action.
