In light of the continuing decline in numbers of young people in our churches and of the need for the empowerment of young people for leadership, the region wishes to keep youth in mission high on its agenda in future years.
Its aim is to offer young people an opportunity to learn about mission through experience and to do so together with other young people. Three programmes will be offered by the Region.
Young people spend time exploring mission, making new friendships, discovering the world church and a new culture. A main feature of Mission: Impossible? is giving young people an opportunity to explore mission by being involved in it.
Working in partnership with local churches and voluntary groups young people participate in practical mission projects for example, a community art project, beach cleaning or working with the homeless.
There are opportunities throughout the project to reflect on their experiences, develop and learn new skills whilst exploring what is the good news that can be taken home.

A Mission Taster weekend is held annually at the Mission House in Amsterdam. The weekend offers young people who are interested in mission or in the Mission House an opportunity to experience both first hand.
The Mission House Taster weekend gives an opportunity to meet this year's Mission House team, to stay in the House, visit some of the projects and explore what is involved in volunteering for the Mission House.

The Mission House is an international community of 8 young people from all over Europe who live together for 10 months in a house in Amsterdam. Each member of the community works full-time as a volunteer in different diaconal (service and caring) projects in the city of Amsterdam.
They include projects with migrants, ex-offenders, young people, drug users and homeless people. The Mission House volunteers are needed to support them and to help them live independently. To find out more please check their website on: www.missionhouse.nl
